Elia Palazzesi
Elia's property is in the heart of a wild Tuscan wooded area in southwestern Montalcino (Siena). On just 7 hectares, Elia Palazzesi is the first to produce wine for commercial sale from his family's century-old estate, which previously operated as a livestock and grain farm, and used the grapes for wine family consumption only.

A terroir of choice and passion, factors that distinguish wines of excellence. Almost a hundred years after the birth of his winery, Elia Palazzesi produces as he once did, guided by tradition; an added value now certified organic. The soils are rich in clay with sand and stone for good drainage. Elia manages to get the best out of these alluvial soils, creating concentrated wines suitable for long aging. The climatic characteristics of the area require careful thinning of the clusters and very careful management of the canopy as the grapes ripen, to protect them from the intense sunlight and winds from the sea. Elia personally performs these operations completely by hand.
Elia ages his wines in large barrels, with brief passages in smaller barrels to harmonize the wines first.
Seizing the warmth of midday and the lush evening sun, full-bodied, spicy wines are produced here, 4 labels in total: a Sangiovese, a Rosso di Montalcino that can challenge many Brunello, a Brunello and in the best vintages a Brunello Riserva.
