Camatta
In the classic Valpolicella area, in the upper part of Marano di Valpolicella (Verona), about 350 meters above sea level, there is Alessandro Lonardi's small 3-hectare CàMatta winery estate.

Agronomist by training and Recioto enthusiast, Alessandro is the first generation to bottle the family's fruit, having joined his grandparents since 2007. He launched his first label in the 2012, converting the vineyards to organic in 2016 (certification in 2019).
He works only with Pergola Veronese (which offers protection from sun, hail, and deer!) and is fortunate to have vineyards dating back to 1964, as well as more recent plantings from 1987 and 2015. He cares for eight vineyards in total, all in Marano, particularly in the Tenda cru (exposed and warmer) and Purano, which is cooler due to its higher location. One of the most popular local varieties for Recioto production is the Rebo grape, rich in color and sugar!
Alessandro produces 6 labels, the Valpolicella and Valpolicella Superiore, Ripasso, Amarone, Recioto and a Rosso IGT.
